Designed to make you feel confident doing yoga in any situation.
This is for people who have never taken a yoga class in their lives and are not sure where to get started and are afraid they might look silly in a yoga class.
It is also for yoga students who have attended yoga classes before, and feel as though they want to understand the correct ways to achieve the postures and use their breath to allow them to be more grateful. If you feel you haven’t achieved the results you were hoping for in a yoga practice, you’re most likely not doing the postures the most effective way. This program will set you up for success.
This is a mini yoga training to help you walk away with a strong foundation of yoga postures, breathwork, and philosophy.
This is an interactive and fun class. There will be the opportunity to ask questions and be adjusted if interested ( this is optional). We will follow Covid protocol and wear masks during adjustments, along with using hand sanitizer.
You will be able to walk into any yoga class in the future with more confidence and grace.
Classes are 1 1/2 hrs long.
Week 1
We will discuss basic yoga philosophy and learn a yogic breathwork practice.
We will learn simple Sun Salutations and how to use the breath to move you through your practice. I will break down the sun salutations, how to do each posture and what they are called. You will be able to practice this on your own daily during the week. My goal is for you to be able to practice on your own at home with ease upon waking.
You will go home with a print-out version so you can practice at home.
Week 2.
We will discuss the eyes and their role in yoga. How to use your vision to help your practice and advance your postures with ease starting with your eyes. We will practice exercises to help your eyesight and protect the muscles around your eyes. We will learn 5 postures, along with their names, which will be broken down so you can easily remember them. I will be sending you home with flyers to put on your wall so you can practice these postures at home.
Week 3
We will learn a breath practice that will speed up your digestion and help your stomach muscles tone and tighten. It is called Uddiyana-bandha. Please come to class with an empty stomach, without much water, and not eating for at least 2 hours beforehand.
We will again learn 5 postures, along with their names, which will be broken down so you can easily remember them. I will be sending you home with flyers to put on your wall so you can practice these postures at home.
Week 4
We will review the past 3 classes and go over any questions you might have.
We will review sun salutations, and the postures we learned during the class.
We will discuss the planes of yoga and movement. How to use that in any posture you might experience going forward.
I will send you home with a Shavasana (relaxation posture) recording via email.
All levels are welcome, beginners are encouraged.
